AMA part of an inspirational team working on a building project at Bravehearts

The National child protection organisation Bravehearts’ headquarters is located on the Gold Coast and recently a much needed $1.3 million expansion took place on the premises.  However, this was no ordinary building project…

The 760sqm build resulted in an added 160sqm on the ground floor of the existing building and an entire new second floor, AND this expansion was all donated by Hutchinson’s Builders (Hutchies) and more than 60 building contractors.  AMA were proud to be part of such an inspirational team of professionals, all working towards the same goal for this great cause.

AMA combined with the following companies to measure, design, supply, fabricate and install 25m of grab rails and 10m of ramp rails.

• Aluminium Balustrades North Coast (Shop Drawings & Fabrication & Transport)
• Aluminium Balustrades Burleigh Heads (Site Measure)
• Warana Powder Coaters (Powder Coating)
• Auzmet Architectural (Installation)
• Alsun Aluminium (Supply aluminium)
• Jono Holdings (Supply mandrel bends for rails)
• Emroware (Supply Handrail Brackets)
• GVC Concrete Cutting (Core Drilling)

AMA donated over $7k of product for use on the project and said when they were approached about the Bravehearts project there was no hesitation in wanting to be involved.

The expansion will enable Bravehearts to consolidate services under one roof at its Arundel head office and see space double as it strives to achieve a vision to make Australia the safest place in the world to raise a child.

Bravehearts has been actively contributing to the provision of child sexual assault services throughout Australia since 1997.  Bravehearts is growing at a rapid rate and the new headquarters signifies a unified and strategic focus on making Australia safer for our kids. Currently Bravehearts have management services in various locations and this will bring them altogether.

Bravehearts CEO, Mr Venardos, was humbled by the generosity of all of the trade partners involved in the project, who all gave up their time and donated materials to make the upgrade happen.  Mr Venardos said;

“We are thankful to our corporate partners whose incredible generosity will enable Bravehearts to evolve to meet increasing demand on our services.   Stopping child sexual assault starts with educating and empowering children with vital knowledge and skills to keep safe and encouraging teachers, carers, parents and other members of the community to play their part in creating child-safe environments.  With soaring demand for education, training and counselling, our new headquarters will act as a ‘one-stop-shop’ for child protection, gearing us to more effectively deliver and evaluate these programs across Australia.”

Hutchies’ Managing Director Greg Quinn, explained how he felt after he received such a positive response from the industry for support on this project, “The support of so many of our subbies and suppliers has been wonderful and we hope our contribution to child safety in Australia as a result of this project produces some real measurable benefits to children in need”.
