The Fortitude Valley Gurner project is Brisbane’s largest and most iconic residential apartment development. Multiplex are responsible for delivering the first two buildings of the three- tower precinct and partnered with AMA for the glass balustrades over the project.

The first two towers named Flatiron and Valley House will contain a total of 651 apartments, over 2500sqm of retail and over 3000sqm of luxury resident amenities in the ‘FV Private Club’, which includes three pools, a cinema, private dining rooms, gym, yoga studio, casual dining and bar areas and a large area for outdoor entertaining.

Shaunna McLean, Multiplex Global Site Engineer, FV – Stage 1, said, “The whole team at AMA were very helpful right from the beginning with the design and all the way through to install. Nothing was too hard to solve, and everyone was very easy to deal with.”

When asked if there were any problems with the FV Gurner Project, Shaunna explained, “We had a few issues at the beginning with getting the design of the balustrades finalised and approved by our structural engineer. It took a lot of brainstorming and different design changes until the final product was approved.

AMA were particularly helpful with turning around drawings and even discussing the design with the structural engineer. There were also some set out issues which were all dealt with quickly and easily with the site team, whether it was adding pressings or cutting sections down to size, and there were no issues that couldn’t be solved.”

Shaunna went on to say, “The final product looks amazing. The balustrades blend in perfectly with the façade that was sourced from a different supplier and the frameless balustrade around the in infinity pool is definitely a feature that exceeded expectations.” A philosophy Multiplex aim to deliver on every project at every stage!

When asked if she would recommend AMA to other contacts, Shaunna was only too happy to say, “I would recommend AMA to anyone; they have definitely been one of the easiest subcontractors to work with.”

“I would definitely use AMA again.”
