Kane Constructions are a multi award winning, privately owned commercial construction company. With 450 full time employees, they operate throughout the east coast of Australia and overseas from offices in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Canberra. In Queensland, Kane have successfully delivered many high-end major developments. Pivotal to their initial success in the Sunshine State, were the iconic projects, the restoration of Old Government House and the redevelopment of King George Square.

Kane Constructions were more recently contracted to design and construct the mixed-use development “Health City”
in Springfield. The project comprises of three buildings; a Quest Apartment Hotel, featuring 82 apartments over six stories, with one floor dedicated to a childcare centre and the ground floor dedicated to retail. A five-storey building containing 18 serviced apartments for Multiple Sclerosis Queensland. And the third building to make up the precinct is an eight storey commercial and medical/consulting suites facility, to house the treating specialists.

AMA were engaged to complete all Glass Balustrades, Handrails, Ramp Rails & Kerb Rails on this project.

The Kane Constructions culture is evident in the way they behave and collaborate with all stakeholders - clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers and work colleagues. Professionalism, competence, integrity and enjoying what they do, are the foundations of the culture; and therefore, it is paramount when choosing subcontractors to work with, that they too have these core values. AMA were the “perfect fit” for this project.

Jon Goupis, Contracts Manager, Kane Constructions Pty Ltd, was pleased to talk us through the project and the important role AMA played in the success of Health City Springfield. “The team at AMA work at a continuously high standard and are consistent in everything they do.”

Jon said that whilst there was “nothing out of the ordinary” that occurred on this project, AMA dealt with everything that was thrown at them with complete professionalism, and it shows in the end result.

“Kane Constructions consider their people their most valuable asset and that includes the contractors we choose to work with. We absolutely see AMA as part of our team and we will definitely use them again on other projects”, Jon explained.

“The end product that AMA produced on the Health City project was really good”, Jon said, and he continued by saying that he would recommend AMA to any other contacts that are looking for an Architectural Metalwork design and construct solution.
